This research aims at exploring the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) driven simulations to enhance passive design strategies in residential buildings in Palestine, mainly apartment buildings. Using AI tools capable of processing large datasets and generating optimized design alternatives. The study aims to reduce energy consumption, improve thermal comfort, while maintaining daylight utilization. A computer simulation-based optimization approach will be employed for a selected typical model for apartment buildings in Palestine, comparing AI optimized designs with traditional methods across various climate zones. The results will provide insights into benefits, limitations, and practical implications of integrating AI into architectural design workflows. main activities - May to July 2025 - FINALIZE LITERATURE REVIEW COLLECTION: GATHER 25-30 KEY PAPERS (AI in Architecture, Passive design for hot climates, AI application in building energy and simulation, studies in local/regional area) - SUMMARIZE / ORGANIZE PAPERS (FINDINGS , METHODS, LIMITAIONS) - DEFINE MAIN THEMES FOR LITERATURE (PASSIVE DSIGN BASICS, AI in Architecture, AI for Passive Design Optimization, Regional Relevance) - Draft the Literature review chapter - METHODOLOGY PLANNING (choose tools, simulation softwares, ML tools ....)
