Description
Time reversal of water waves is usually studied through external forcing such as sudden changes in effective gravity. In Kadri (2016, 2019), an alternative nonlinear mechanism is demonstrated: time reversal arising from resonant triad interactions between surface gravity waves and an acoustic–gravity mode. This project will reproduce and extend the amplitude-level model developed in the paper, with attention focused on the evolution equations governing the original gravity wave, the time-reversed wave, and the acoustic mode. The student will explore how interaction duration, detuning, and mode number affect the quality of time reversal. The project is theoretical and computational-driven. References: U. Kadri, T.R.
