The method currently in use for diagnosing most neurological conditions is a psychological evaluation; where a human expert observes the behavioral patterns & gives a diagnosis; This subjective method poses an obvious limitation as well as a source of error. Research suggests the efficacy of using MRI image processing in assisting with the diagnosis. This project is an effort to add a contribution to this area. Research in the usage of MRI imaging in diagnosing neural disorders such as ADHD as well as others like schizophrenia is a potentially unexplored area since diagnosis usually happens by human experts. This project is an effort aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of medical imaging, neurodiversity & in a broader sense; academic research & scientific methodology; through experimenting with different machine learning models, image modalities & image processing techniques.
