Description

The distribution of false information, phishing attacks, and public opinion manipulation are just a few of the major issues brought on by the development of phoney accounts on social media sites. Conventional detection techniques, which sometimes rely only on statistical or machine learning characteristics, may find it difficult to adapt to changing deceptive behaviours or generalise across platforms. This research combines machine learning, semantic reasoning, and domain expertise to create an ontology-enhanced framework for identifying phoney social media accounts. The method makes use of a specially created ontology that simulates account behaviours, engagement trends, profile characteristics, and content traits commonly linked to phoney or automated accounts.
